On June 27, 1940 in the city of Medellín, Colombia, egal start was given to a family trading business and had been operating for some time. although it was a business very different from steel, with the arrival of World War II there is a turn in the business course and begins to distribute and market imported steel products.
Over the years the business the business was growing and innovating in every era with steel products. Towards the 90’s a stage of national expansion is reached and the opening of branches and plants to provide our customers throughout the country begins.
Today we have a human resources force of more than 170 direct collaborators, who daily serve the needs of more than 200 companies and that are part of the history of a company that is projected into the future as the most important in the sector thanks to our constant evolution and adaptation.

1976
First registered business name in the city of Medellín and opening of the headquarters in Bolivar, a recognized avenue at that time located throughout the city center.
1977
With a more solid commercial structure and a portfolio of wider products, the company decides to open two other offices, one in Medellin on the Guayabal Avenue and the other in the city of Pereira.
1996
For this year it is decided to make a change in the company name, likewise create a brand that will generate better recall in the public and at the same time that it was more associated with the steel sector and other items of hardware. 3 new headquarters were inaugurated for this time.
2006
30 years later we became one of the leading steel companies in Colombia and we decided to call us “Aceros Mapa” emphasizing our expertise in this product and serving more than 200 companies nationwide.
2017
Our evolution continues and we know well that we must adapt to the changes in the environment, renewing not only our image, If not our operation, our equipment and our processes, we manage to grow significantly as a company and we project ourselves to be leaders in the industry.
