ASTM A131 Grade Naval sheet A (ABS)
Structural sheet of medium resistance, used in all kinds of structural constructions, with wide application to the shipbuilding industry, Its main characteristic is the high weldability and malleability for the shipowner purpose. This sheet has the ABS and Lloyds certification.
Available 6’X20 format ‘(1.83 meters X 6.1 meters) and 8’X20’ (2.44 meters X 6.1 meters) feet from 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch gauge thickness.
Sheet ASTM-A572 G50
Low alloy and high strength steel sheets, good ease of cold forming and easy welding, available in Grade 50 with a resistance of 50000 PSI. It is used for metal structures, mining equipment, silos, hoppers, beams, bridges, auto parts, high tension towers, etc.
Available in formats 4’X8 ‘(1.22 mts X 2.44 mts), and 8’X20’ (2.44 mts X 6.1 mts), from 1/4 caliber up to 1 1/2 inches thick.
ASTM-A36 Sheet
The name of the HR sheet is due to its hot processing. A36 sheet is used for the manufacture of tanks for perishable food, fuel tanks, trapiches, machinery that does not require high resistance, floors of heavy machinery, bodies and equipment manufacturing in general.
Available in formats 4’X8 ‘(1.22 meters X 2.44 meters), 1X6 meters (inventory on request), 1.20X6 meters, 6’X20’ (1.83 meters X 6.1 meters), 8’X20 ‘(2.44 meters X 6.1 meters) . The sizes vary from 14 gauge up to 4 inches.
ASTM A709 50WT1 Sheet (Test Charpy)
This steel is micro-alloyed in order to obtain high mechanical properties. It is used in industrial structures, bridges, buildings, towers and in structural purposes in general. It replaces the A588 steel applications with greater efficiency. In addition, this steel has certification of the Charpy test.
Available in 8’X20 ‘format (2.44 meters x 6.1 meters), from 1/4 gauge to 2 “inches in thickness.
ASTM A588 Grade B sheet
Low alloy steel and high resistance special for weathering. The main characteristic of this steel is that it forms a self-passivating layer, more resistant to atmospheric corrosion than conventional steel. Said resistance to corrosion is translated into a reduction of maintenance to the structures in which this type of steel is used. It is available in several grades with small variations in its chemistry. The specified minimum yield strength and tensile strength in all groups ASTM structural profiles and of plates in thicknesses of 4 inches and less than 50 and 70 psi (3,515 and 4,920 kg / cm2) respectively.
Available in 8’X20 ‘format (2.44 meters x 6.1 meters), from 1/4 caliber up to 1 1/2 inches thick and cuts in special sizes
ASTM Anti Abrasive 450 Brinell Sheet
Water-hardened fine-grained carbon steel, special when maximum resistance to abrasive wear due to sliding and impact is required. It is used for the manufacture of hoppers, blades, parts for yellow machinery, in the mining and cement industry.
Available in formats 4’X8 ‘(1.22 mts X 2.44 mts), and 8’X20’ (2.44 mts X 6.1 mts). In calibers from 3/16 ” to 2 ” inches and cuts in special measures.
ASTM A516 B Gr 70 Sheet
These sheets are used in the manufacture of pressure vessels. They are designed to withstand high pressures in different temperature ranges. These sheets are supplied in the normalized state. The microstructures of these laminated products are fine-grained. These steels are supplied in thicknesses ranging from 6 millimeters to 25 millimeters in size of 8’x 20 ‘.
Applications: Its main applications are the manufacture of boilers, pressure or steam pipes, industrial thermos and heat exchangers. These steels are suitable for mechanical forming and welding processes.
